The Department of Financial Institutions, Division of Banking, has calculated the interest rate required to be paid on escrow accounts for residential mortgage loans subject to s. 138.052 (5), Stats., to be 0.14% for 2017.

Wis. Stats., requires financial institutions that originate a first lien or first lien equivalent residential mortgage loan to pay interest at the rate established by DFI on the outstanding principal balance of an escrow account the lender requires in connection with such loans. This interest rate shall remain in effect through December 31, 2017, and is unchanged from the 2016 rate.
