The deadline to order your FREE WBF Reading Raises Interest Kit is this Friday, March 3.
The kit is often used by WBA members in conjunction with the annual National Teach Children to Save Day event.
This year's Teach Children to Save Day is on April 28. To help you and your staff conduct successful classroom presentations, the Wisconsin Bankers Foundation is offering a free WBF Reading Raises Interest Kit to each and every member bank branch.
This year's kit features the book The Berenstain Bears' Trouble With Money by Stan and Jan Berenstain. In the story, Brother and Sister Bear find ways to work for money in order to earn coins for the things they want. Their adventures journey to find the middle ground between earning and spending makes for a funny, realistic story.
This year's kit includes two lesson plans for bankers to choose from. The first lesson is appropriate for students in Grades K-1 and focuses on the concepts of earning and saving money and banks. The second lesson is appropriate for students in Grades 1-3 and introduces the concept of interest and also discusses figures of speech.
Kits must be ordered by March 3, 2017 and will be mailed to branches by April.
