A suspect is being sought in a bank robbery that happened Wednesday afternoon, the Sun Prairie Police Department said.

Around 4:30 p.m., a man entered the Bank of Sun Prairie, 695 S. Grand Ave., and gave a teller a note demanding money, according to police. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was shown, and no one was injured, according to police.

Alex Melton is being sought as the suspect. He is a white male standing 5-foot-8 and weighing 170 pounds. He has multiple face tattoos and a tattoo of a flower on his neck.

He's believed to be on foot in the Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton area, police said.

Initial reports suggested the robber was at the Aldi Grocery Store, 750 Bunny Trail, and a perimeter was set up around the store and a search conducted, according to police.

But authorities determined Melton was most likely not in the immediate area.

Anyone with information on the case should call the police department at 608-837-7336, and if Melton is seen, call 911 immediately.
