Thanks to your involvement, WBA's advocacy fundraising had another successful year in 2017. We again were able to meet our goal in total dollars. We did this despite only 60% of member banks participating. Imagine what we could accomplish if 100% of the member banks contributed something towards our advocacy efforts!

As an individual, you can contribute to either the Alliance of Bankers for Wisconsin political conduit or Wisbankpac. Here is how it works. The ABW conduit is for bankers who want to direct their personal dollars to the pro-banking candidates of their choosing. With permission from the banker, WBA forwards dollars from banker’s money in the conduit to pro-banking candidates. Think of the ABW Conduit as your personal bank account for political giving.

Wisbankpac is the registered political action committee of WBA. Wisbankpac is the “set it and forget it” option for bankers who want to help the industry support pro-banking candidates and committees of both parties. When pro-banking candidates receive a check from Wisbankpac, the individual bankers who contributed to Wisbankpac are NOT listed.

The WBA Issue Advocacy Fund is the place banks may direct corporate dollars. WBA is a member of a Wisconsin business coalition that runs a multi-million dollar issue advocacy campaign that educates the public about which candidates are pro-banking and pro-business.  Bank contributions to WBA’s Issue Advocacy Fund are kept confidential.

While the Silver Triangle club is the highest recognition for individuals, the Gold Triangle club is the highest recognition for banks.

As you can see, there are many avenues for you and your bank to participate in WBA’s political defense efforts! Remember that there is no WRONG way to participate. The key is to just participate somehow. THANK YOU for all that you do.

Changing the way the state treats loan income related to taxes will be no small effort. WBA will be setting amitious fundraising goals to get our agenda passed. We are going to need the support of an united industry to get this accomplished. Can we count on your support this year? You should receive fundraising toolkits in about a month.
