Banking Advocate and GOP state Rep. Adam Jarchow has announced he will not seek re-election to the Assembly this fall. Jarchow, an attorney from Balsam Lake Wisconsin, was a member of the Financial Institutions Committee and assisted WBA with several pieces of legislation. Jarchow was critical of Royal Credit Union after it left the community without a financial institution immediately following an acquisition. In a letter to RCU, Rep. Jarchow stated "the next time a credit union representative defends the tax advantage they have of banks by pointing out the community aspect of these organizations, I will be much more skeptical. Jarchow, 39, was elected to the Assembly in 2014 representing a district in western Wisconsin. He ran for the 10th Senate District after GOP Sen. Sheila Harsdorf resigned to become DATCP secretary. Jarchow won a bruising primary with fellow GOP Rep. Shannon Zimmerman in December before losing to Dem Patty Schachtner in January.
