WBA and other state bankers associations recently wrote to Senate leaders urging the Senate to swiftly consider and pass S. 2155, the bipartisan regulatory reform package championed by Senate Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Sens. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.), Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.). The bill is expected to be brought to the Senate floor this week.

Emphasizing that the post-financial crisis regulatory structure needs to be recalibrated, the state associations said that "Congress should appropriately tailor these regulations in ways that will promote economic activity without compromising systemic stability. S. 2155 is a productive step in moving towards achieving a correct balance of these two important objectives." Read the letter.
