Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster response organization, is launching an operation in the Dane County communities of Mazomanie, Cross Plains, and Black Earth, to assist in ongoing flood response and recovery efforts.

Meanwhile, several local banks are lending a financial hand to those affected by recent flooding.

Wisconsin Bank & Trust will donate $5 to the American Red Cross — up to $2,500 total — for anyone who visits one of its three participating banking centers during regular business hours Aug. 28–31. Participating centers are the main branch on Junction Road in Madison, as well as the Fitchburg and Cottage Grove locations. The public is welcome to participate.

Additionally, The Peoples Community Bank, Mazomanie, has established the Mazomanie Area Flood Assistance Fund, and the State Bank of Cross Plains has orchestrated a Disaster Recovery Account in connection with the United Way, as well as coordinated and volunteered in wide-ranging relief efforts in the bank’s communities.
