A new survey the Dem firm Public Policy Polling has Dem challenger Tony Evers with an edge over Gov. Scott Walker.
The poll, conducted for the liberal High Ground Action Fund, found 49 percent of registered voters surveyed backed the state schools superintendent, while 45 percent favored Walker.
Shortly after the August 14 primary, a different PPP survey had Evers at 49 percent and Walker at 44. Since then, a series of TV ads have run on both sides.
The new survey also found Walker was underwater for his job performance at 46-50, while President Trump's job approval was upside down at 44-52.
The poll of 726 registered voters was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
