mBank announced a $15,000 donation to support local non-profits in the Greater Merrill Area earlier this week. The contribution was divided into four grants to help serve four different organizations that make a positive impact in the Merrill Community.

$5,000 for the Optimist Club of Merrill to help construct a handicapped-accessible playground at Normal Park, which will enhance the two-acre park that is currently used for musical events, picnics, a farmer’s market, and ice skating.

$5,000 to the Merrill Area Public Schools to assist in purchasing a new trailer for band equipment.

$2,500 to Schmidt-Manecke-Donner Post No. 1638 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States to assist in construction of the new Northwoods Veterans Post in Merrill that will feature meeting rooms, an education center, wellness room, fitness center, and more.

$2,500 to Merrill Community Homeless Center Inc. to go towards the opening of the Habitat Home in Merrill.

“We’re proud to support these local organizations that have such a profound, positive impact here in our community said Clay Peterson, mBank Executive Vice President. “By supporting these programs, we are living our core value of giving back to the communities we serve. We look forward to seeing the opportunities this will bring to so many families and businesses.”

“I’m grateful we are able to give back to so many deserving groups, said Clyde Nelson, mBank Senior Vice President, Lincoln County Executive. "They all help make the Greater Merrill Community a wonderful place to live and work.”
