Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) has named his appointments to the Joint Finance Committee for the 2019-2020 session. John Nygren (R-Marinette) was previously announced as co-chair again. The other five include:

  • Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) – Vice-chair
  • Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah)
  • Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam)
  • Terry Katsma (R-Oostburg) *Former President of Oostburg State Bank*
  • Shannon Zimmerman (R-Hudson)

Previously, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Horicon) named Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) as the Senate co-chair along with the following appointments:

  • Luther Olsen (R-Ripon)
  • Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg)
  • Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green)
  • Duey Stroebel (R-Saukville)
  • Tom Tiffany (R-Minocqua)

Senate Minority Leader Jen Shilling reappointed Senators LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee) and Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton) as her members of JFC. Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz has yet to make his appointments.

All bills introduced in either house of the legislature for the appropriation of money, providing for revenue or relating to taxation shall be referred to the joint committee on finance before being passed. The National Conference of State Legislatures has named the Joint Finance Committee the most powerful legislative committee in any legislature in the country.
