When Associated Banc-Corp completes its acquisition of Huntington National Bank's Wisconsin branch network this year, 17 locations of the two banks are likely to close.
Green Bay-based Associated notified regulators it wants to shut down 11 Huntington branches and six Associated branches as part of a consolidation initiative after the $34 million deal is complete.
Among branches set to close are a Huntington branch in downtown Milwaukee and a Huntington branch in Menomonee Falls. Most of the branch closings will take place in northeast Wisconsin.
In December, Associated, which is the largest bank headquartered in Wisconsin, announced it was buying 32 branches from Huntington.
