As construction continues on Fortifi Bank’s new building at 701 Cormier Rd. in Ashwaubenon, the bank announced it added two new positions to support its growing markets throughout Wisconsin.
Kate Owens and Michelle Oliver joined Fortifi as Senior Vice President of Retail Banking and Assistant Vice President/Market Manager, respectively.
“Our new Ashwaubenon branch will expand our personal banking services to the greater Green Bay community,” stated Wendy Seaman, Chief Operating Officer. “Kate and Michelle add additional layers of support so our teams can offer even more personal and meaningful client service.”
Kate Owens – Senior Vice President of Retail Banking
Owens joined the company as Senior Vice President of Retail Banking in late January. In this newly created role, Owens oversees retail banking efforts for the bank’s eight locations.
Owens comes to Fortifi with over 17 years of banking experience, most recently as Branch Manager with Johnson Financial Group in Green Bay. She also served as a police officer in Columbus, Ohio. Owens is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
When asked about her background, Owens says the transition from law enforcement to financial services was a natural fit.
“My career is rooted in safety and service to our communities,” said Owens. “Community banking provides me the joy of helping people in our area secure and improve their financial lives.”
Michelle Oliver – Assistant Vice President/Market Manager
Oliver joined Fortifi in mid-March as Assistant Vice President and Market Manager for the bank’s northeast Wisconsin region. Her role includes management of the Green Bay branch and additional support for the Omro and Winneconne locations.
Oliver has 19 years of banking experience specializing in team training and mentoring. She previously held positions with Denmark State Bank and Johnson Financial Group in Green Bay.
“Fortifi is known for superior customer service and providing guidance to their clients,” said Oliver, when asked what drew her to the position. “I look forward to working with our teams to further develop those roles.”
New, Full Service Building Opening Summer 2019
Fortifi announced in January that construction began on its new facility, which will replace the current location at 2018 S. Oneida Street. The new location will expand its retail services to complement its well-established loan production office.
The current financial center team has been serving clients since 2010 throughout northeast Wisconsin. Primarily focused on business lending, the Green Bay location has experienced continued growth over the last nine years. Services offered at the branch include wealth management, private banking, and treasury management among others.
Fortifi Bank, with total assets of $420 million, has been servicing Wisconsin residents for more than 140 years. Headquartered in Berlin, Wisconsin, they have eight locations spanning from Green Bay south to the Madison area. A ninth location in Ripon is planned to open in mid-summer.
