Nearly 140 bankers from over 75 member banks gathered in Madison for the second annual WBA Leadership ENGAGED! event and Board Installation ceremony on June 5, 2019. The group consisted of incoming and outgoing committee and section board members, as well as incoming and outgoing WBA Directors. This outstanding group of bankers who lead the association gathered in one place, with one purpose.

New WBA Board Chair Mark Meloy addressed the banker-leaders gathered for the event. He thanked them for their confidence and outlined his goals for the association and the industry during the coming year, including a focus on advocacy and leadership development.

Opening the day’s program, WBA President and CEO Rose Oswald Poels welcomed the attendees before highlighting some of WBA’s many successes from the past year, including advocacy victories and Power of Community Week. She also addressed some exciting developments for the future, including the remodel of WBA’s existing headquarters to add a training center for member banks, among other updates.

The newly installed WBA Officers are:

  • Chair Mark Meloy, CEO, First Business Bank, Madison
  • Chair-Elect Paul Kohler, president and CEO, Charter Bank, Eau Claire
