WBA staff raised over $10,000 to defend the banking industry! Every year at the start of summer, WBA employees put their money where their mouth is and donate personal dollars to our political advocacy funds.
WBA staff increased their fundraising in 2019 by over 30% compared to last year, contributing over $10,000 to Wisbankpac and/or the Alliance of Bankers for Wisconsin conduit.
Not only is the dollar amount impressive, but over 75% of the staff contributed at least $1. That’s over $2,000 more dollars than was raised in 2018 from WBA alone that will be available to advocate for the industry over the course of the next year as we gear up for the 2020 election cycle. If WBA was a member bank, it would hold second place of all the institutions donating to the PAC/conduit.
WBA staff is encouraged to participate every year with either one-time donations or a regular payroll deduction. The WBA advocacy team also sells jeans stickers for $5 for use throughout the year. Whether it’s a contribution of $1, $10 or $1,000, we want staff to be connected and participate with WBA’s advocacy efforts. Our fundraising drive was filled with top 10 lists, trivia, gift card giveaways, and sweet treats. It all wrapped up with a lunch provided by WBA to thank staff for their support of advocacy.
