Recently the Senate Committee on Insurance, Financial Services, Government Oversight and Courts held a public hearing on SB 428 and SB 429, the WBA-supported elder financial abuse legislation. Ken Thompson, Capitol Bank, Madison, (above, right) testified on behalf of the banking industry. WBA’s Mike Semmann (above, left) also testified that day. Both bills will help Wisconsin’s banks tackle the increasing problem of elder abuse. Bankers are in a unique position to be able to identify this financial abuse. Any tool or effort that helps bank staff save abuse victims is something we support.
