The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) Board of Directors has added two new members: State Rep. Kalan Haywood II and Ranell Washington.

Rep. Haywood, who represents Wisconsin’s 16th Assembly District in Milwaukee was elected in 2018. He grew up in the district and graduated from Rufus King International High School in 2017 before attending Cardinal Stritch University where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He serves on key Assembly committees including Housing and Real Estate, Ways and Means, Workforce Development, Veterans and Military Affairs, and International Affairs and Commerce.

Washington, partnership development adviser for American Family Insurance, has experience in banking which includes 15 years as a credit analyst and business banker, most recently serving as vice president of business banking and community development group team leader with Town Bank in Milwaukee. He has been honored for his philanthropic involvement with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha; he also currently serves as a member of Milwaukee’s City Plan Commission.
