Peoples State Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Amber Gober to business development specialist and mortgage loan originator. With the promotion, Gober will move to the bank’s Rib Mountain location and work with Branch Manager Vicki Mauritz to assist with business development opportunities in the Rib Mountain area. At the same time, Gober will continue to assist mortgage customers throughout the greater Wausau area.
“Over the years working with mortgage customers, I’ve come to meet many business leaders in central Wisconsin,” said Gober. “In this new role, I will not only work with mortgage customers but also with business leaders to assist them with their commercial banking needs.”
Gober has been with Peoples for four years and has 22 years of banking experience. She has helped customers with home purchases, refinancing, home equity lines of credit, and establishing construction loans.
“Amber’s lending experience with mortgage customers provides a great base for her in this new hybrid role,” said Jeffrey Saxton, Peoples vice president – mortgage. “She’ll provide the same drive and work ethic to build business relationships for Peoples, in addition to maintaining her success with home buyers.”
As part of the business development role, Gober will partner with commercial and retail banking teams to proactively uncover new business opportunities and grow existing relationships primarily in Rib Mountain and surrounding areas. She’ll work closely with Mauritz, who has been the Rib Mountain branch manager since March 2018.
Gober was a 2019 Athena nominee and 2017 recipient of Wausau’s 20 Under Forty program. She volunteers time with Wausau Area Builders Association, United Way of Marathon County Women United, Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassador program and Women’s Leadership Conference, and Junior Achievement. Gober is a Wausau native and resides in the area with her husband and children.
