First State Bank President, Bob Van Asten, announced the retirement of Bill Schmidt from the bank’s board of directors on January 11. Schmidt joined the First State Bank board in 2015 and served on its Audit/Compliance and Human Resources committees.
“We appreciate Bill’s time and dedication in helping First State Bank meet the financial needs of our communities,” said Van Asten. “We wish him well in his retirement.”
Schmidt commented, “During my time on the board, I enjoyed learning about the opportunities and challenges community banks face. It’s been especially rewarding to see first-hand how First State Bank helps our local communities grow.”
Schmidt was Vice President of Critical Access Hospital Operations and President of ThedaCare Medical Centers New London and Shawano before retiring in 2018.
