Badger Bank Announces a New Executive Management Team

Steve Dehnert
Badger Bank, an employee-owned trusted leader in community banking, is pleased to announce exciting new Executive Management changes as long-time CEO Steve Dehnert steps down as CEO and into his new role as Chief Strategy Officer. Dehnert began his career in the bookkeeping department in 1978 and has performed almost every job at the bank. With four branches in Fort Atkinson, Cambridge, Johnson Creek and Jefferson, the bank has seen remarkable growth over Steve’s tenure. In 2007, Steve guided the organization through the momentous rebranding from Citizens State Bank and Trust to Badger Bank. Steve’s experience and exceptional leadership contributed to a seamless transition for customers and employees alike. He has always focused on building strong relationships with customers and employees and is proud of the positive impact the bank has had on its communities. Steve will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board.” I look forward to working with this highly talented and qualified management team in my role as Chief Strategy Officer” stated Dehnert.
The following executive team changes have taken place effective January 1, 2025:

David Keleher
David Keleher will assume the position of CEO and will remain on the Board of Directors. “We are deeply grateful to Steve for his vision and leadership during his tenure,” said David Keleher. “Thanks to his efforts, Badger Bank is well-positioned for long-term success. We are confident that with all the new executive management changes we will continue to build on this legacy.”

Tom Dehnert
Tom Dehnert has been promoted to the role of President and will maintain his role on the Board of Directors. Tom has extensive leadership within the bank. He will work closely with David to uphold the bank’s values and mission. “I look forward to contributing to Badger Bank’s continued success in my new role as President. I am committed to leading our team to ensure we maintain our focus on innovation, efficiency and above all providing outstanding customer service,” stated Tom Dehnert.

Craig Keleher
Craig Keleher has been promoted to Executive Vice President and will remain the bank’s Chief Financial Officer. “These changes represent important steps in executing on the bank’s long-term succession plan and strategic initiatives, and they demonstrate Steve’s forethought and careful approach to building a team to lead the bank in the years to come,” said Craig Keleher.

Mitch Weyer
Mitch Weyer, currently the bank’s Senior Loan Officer, will add Senior Vice President to his title. “I am excited to work alongside such a talented group of individuals as we build on the bank’s legacy of trust, customer-centricity, and excellence,” said Mitch Weyer.
In addition to these new appointments, several other members of the bank will assume expanded roles and responsibilities in alignment with the bank’s strategic vision for 2025 and beyond. The changes also reflect the bank’s dedication to promoting internal talent and ensuring the highest level of leadership across all key functions.
