Bank of Mauston Holds Record-Setting Food Drive and Honors Bank Chairman and Food Drive Founder

Tom SchmidtWe all know these past two years have been challenging on many levels. To help ease the burden on those in need, the Bank of Mauston recently hosted its 37th Annual Food Pantry Drive. Area residents were encouraged to visit any of the Bank of Mauston’s six locations and drop off monetary donations. The donations, totaling $7,193.19, were then donated to the local food pantry that serves the branch’s community.

On top of collecting funds at its branches, the bank also partnered with the Mauston High School Key Club’s annual food drive. Mauston High School and the MHS Key Club had a tremendous response raising $6,827.00! Bank of Mauston was proud to match 100% of the funds raised at their locations as well as the Mauston High School for a total match of $13,440.19 and total donation of $27,980.38 – making this largest donation year to date.

The food drive is a tradition started by the late Bank of Mauston Chairman Tom Schmidt 37 years ago and Bank of Mauston is proud to carry on this legacy. To honor Tom’s stewardship of supporting the community, Bank of Mauston will be memorializing the annual food drive in his name.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the community. The Bank of Mauston family is humbled and honored to be part of such a supportive and generous community and would like to say “Thank you” to everyone who donated.  These generous donors helped the bank carry out its motto of ‘Helping Our Community Grow’!
