In good times and bad, problem loans are a normal part of lending. How well this process is managed will determine the extent of the impact problem loans have on the bank’s bottom line. In this webinar, the students will learn the proper management techniques and tactics used to mitigate the impact of problem loans. The course relates to commercial loans to all business sizes and industries, however many of the techniques are highly applicable to personal loans.
Banks devote tremendous amounts of resources and management to the lending function that generates loans that meet profit expectations and risk tolerance. This “pipeline” is the lifeblood of the bank’s viability, however, if the underwriting process fails to assess the risk factors or if the risk escalates due to changing circumstances, the value of the pipeline could quickly diminish. The purpose of this webinar is to review the management process for identifying and mitigating the effects of problem loans.
