Human Resources Workshop
The WBA Human Resources Workshop will take place on September 29th at the Wisconsin Bankers Association Office in Madison. The Workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m.
This workshop is designed with the Wisconsin Banking Industry Human Resources professional in mind.

Total compensation is a “hot topic” for executive leadership. It is a primary consideration for attracting and retaining high-performing employees at all levels within the bank. How you reward executives directly affects your ability to attract, retain, and reward talent within leadership positions. It is critical that the bank focus on a total compensation strategy to ensure alignment with bank, departmental and individual performance. This session focuses on how to strategically and effectively manage your total compensation plan and compensation “mix” to achieve bank goals and objectives while remaining responsive to the needs of employees. At the conclusion of this session, participants should possess a working knowledge of total compensation plan elements, compensation strategies, and the importance of linking pay with performance.

HR professionals are constantly challenged to keep up with the ever-changing workplace, employment laws, and technology. This program will bring you up to speed on key recent developments in areas of importance for you and your workplace. This session will address: recent HR laws and regulations that affect your bank, key Supreme Court and Wisconsin employment-related cases, the latest developments in wage and hour, harassment and disability discrimination and accommodation, and other key developments that may impact your policies or practices. This session raise your awareness of critical issues in your workplace.

Welcome to your HR Peer Networking Session! This is a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and talk about key issues regarding Human Resources. Topics will be decided prior to the conference by our WBA HR Committee.

We’ve all heard how important communication is but we don’t always practice it. Being an effective communicator can dramatically increase your success and the success of your company.
Session highlights include:
- Why good communication is so important, why we don’t practice it and how to make it a habit
- How to clearly and concisely communicate to be heard
- Communication runs both ways. How to be a good listener for life!
