Forte Bank: Half-Century of Banking – Let Them Eat Cake!

Joyce Hall
Can you believe it? A half-century ago, in 1974, Joyce Hall started her journey in banking in Deposit Services, or Bookkeeping, at First National Bank in Hartford. Back then, a new house cost a cool $34,900, gas was a mere 42 cents a gallon, and you could snag a brand-new Buick station wagon for just $4,371!
Fast forward 50 years, and Joyce Hall, now the Deposit Operations Manager, has witnessed the incredible transformation and growth of First National Bank of Hartford into what is now Forte Bank, along with the opening of three additional Forte Bank branches. Her 50-year career at Forte Bank and her unwavering commitment to the Hartford community has made her a true local legend. And, although the costs of buying a new home, a gallon of gas, or a new car have changed, Hall’s commitment to service and Forte Bank’s customers remains the same: strong and customer-focused.
Forte Bank celebrated Hall’s remarkable achievement on Tuesday, October 1st at Forte Bank in Hartford. And yes, there was cake! We raised a slice to her dedication and 50 years of hard work.
