Heather Mader of Port Washington State Bank accepted the 2022 Next Generation Leadership Award at the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce’s Celebrate Our Community Awards Dinner on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Mader has worked for Port Washington State Bank for 11 years with five of those years spent developing the Thiensville office which was established in 2017. In Thiensville, Mader quickly stepped in to share her talents with a variety of local organizations. Mader co-chairs the Thiensville Village Park Re-Imagined Committee which aims to raise funds for major park improvements. She has been a rotarian for five years, and a member of the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber Sporting Clays fundraising committee for six years. She has volunteered at Family Fun Before the Fourth, the community paper shredding and drug take back days in April and October each year, the Thiensville Business Association’s Food Truck in the Park, and numerous other events. Mader also serves the banking industry through the time she spends as a member of the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) Retail Committee.
“I’m fortunate to play a small part in this community’s future, and I hope that I can inspire others to continue to build it with me and get involved,” commented Mader.
James Schowalter, president and COO of PWSB shared his appreciation for Mader’s efforts: “Heather is one of the many people we employ that give back their time and talent to the community. Just last year, our team members logged 1,140 hours of community service. We encourage this time because we truly care about the communities we serve. Heather is a shining example of that and we couldn’t be more proud of her.”
