Executive Letter: New WBA Member Database Portal Coming Soon

From the Desk of Rose Oswald Poels

By Rose Oswald Poels

I am excited to share the upcoming launch of a new WBA member portal that was created as part of a member database conversion for the staff. The purpose of the portal is to bring banker-specific information to each individual member while protecting WBA member information and content. As a result, there will be some changes to the way you and your team interact online with WBA.

For the past two years, WBA staff have been working to create a banker-specific experience for WBA content, resources, and services as part of a WBA Board of Directors strategic initiative. The investment of staff time and other resources needed to manage this database conversion feels a lot like what you and your team go through with a core conversion! WBA’s new database is a membership management platform through Fonteva, which is built on and powered by the Salesforce CRM. The new database will bring internal efficiencies and more robust reporting for the staff in addition to allowing you to access customized information about your engagement with WBA at your fingertips.

The new portal will require members to log in. The login will appear as an option on the WBA webpage. Among other tools, the portal will allow each member to have access to their own event registration information. Bankers will still be able to register multiple attendees at one time and will be able to register on behalf of another colleague. For bankers who are part of a community group, there will also be an opportunity to connect with fellow community group members, such as the Bank Marketing, HR Officer, Operations Officer, Risk Management, WBA Compliance Forum members, and more. The new portal will also house the WBA Best Practices Library.

For the first time ever, I am excited to offer a “CEO Dashboard” through the WBA member portal, which provides a summary of your bank’s engagement with WBA products and services. The dashboard is exclusive to the bank CEO. WBA plans to further build out the information that may be shared in the dashboard based on use and interest.

In the upcoming weeks, WBA members will receive further information about the new WBA member portal, including a link from Fonteva for bankers to create a new login for the WBA website to access the portal and member-only benefits. I am very excited about this new member functionality and look forward to your feedback as you begin to use it.
