National Bank of Commerce Welcomes Ginny Knudson to NATCOM and NBC Board of Directors

Ginny Knudson
National Bank of Commerce (NBC), continues its growth and expansion with the addition of a new board member, welcoming Ginny Knudson to the NATCOM and NBC Board of Directors.
Ginny Knudson is the president and a shareholder for Borden, Steinbauer, Krueger & Knudson, P.A. Raised in Brainerd, she attended the University of St. Thomas for her undergraduate studies and went on to earn her law degree from the University of Minnesota. She was employed for a few years at the Minneapolis law firm Gray Plant Mooty, now known as Lathrop GPM. In 1998, she moved back to Brainerd and now practices what she calls “small town law”—real estate, business, estate planning, family law, and government relations.
For nearly 20 years, Ginny has been deeply involved at St. Francis Church in Brainerd, serving as the Finance Council Chair. She now continues her dedication to the parish as a Trustee. She has been the Capital Campaign Chair for the 2008 expansion of St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School and currently serves on the Principal’s Leadership Team. She has also taught Faith Formation and has been a Lector for many years. In addition, she is an active member of the Lakes Area Music Festival Board, Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee, Essentia – St. Joseph’s Medical Center Director’s Council, and a Brainerd Elks Club member.
Ginny and her husband’s involvement with NBC began with RiverWood Bank. In 2013, they were looking to purchase a second convenience store, which was a huge financial leap for them. Their current bank was not interested in financing the purchase, but RiverWood Bank believed in their dream. They have considerably expanded since that time, all with the help of financing from RiverWood Bank.
Ginny stated, “RiverWood Bank has been a trusted partner through the considerable growth of our companies. I was honored to be asked by former RiverWood leadership, Paul Means and Bart Taylor, to meet with NBC. I was very impressed with the extent to which NBC has invested in its communities and partnered with small businesses. I look forward to providing the new combined organization with insights into the Brainerd Lakes Area market and the other markets that RiverWood Bank served throughout northcentral Minnesota.”
