Oak Bank Welcomes Amy Steger as Marketing Manager

Oak Bank is pleased to announce that Amy Steger has joined Oak Bank as Marketing Manager. Amy will work alongside Oak Bank’s longtime Marketing Director, Karen Virnoche, to ensure a smooth transition as Karen prepares for retirement after 26 years of dedicated service to the bank and the community.

Amy brings 20 years of experience in strategic marketing, communications, branding, and public relations across the public, nonprofit, and private sectors.

Most recently, Amy served as Communications & Marketing Specialist for Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, where she developed creative strategies across digital and social media platforms to strengthen public engagement and build trust around water stewardship, wastewater treatment, and resource recovery.

Previously, Amy was Creative Marketing Manager for Travel Wisconsin at the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, leading a team of creative professionals in developing marketing campaigns and brand assets that promoted Wisconsin as the Midwest’s premier travel destination. Her extensive marketing background also includes leadership positions with the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, where she directed strategic communications and marketing initiatives supporting association programs, membership services, and events. She also served as Communications Manager for Greenleaf Media, managing integrated marketing campaigns, SEO-focused web content, and client communications.

Amy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Marketing from Madison College.

An active community volunteer, Amy has served as an appointee to the City of Fitchburg Landmarks Preservation Commission since 2016. She previously served on the board of 100+ Women Who Care–Madison and was a founding member and fundraising lead for Fitchburg Dog Park Advocates, helping raise support for the community dog park.

As Marketing Manager, Amy will oversee the bank’s marketing, communications, branding, advertising, community engagement, and public relations efforts while working closely with the current Marketing Director during the transition period.
