Oostburg State Bank Celebrates 115th Anniversary

Triangle Background

Oostburg State Bank proudly celebrated its 115th anniversary on March 2, 2023. This milestone not only commemorates the bank’s longevity but also its ongoing commitment to the Sheboygan County community.

In 1908, Oostburg State Bank opened its doors on the corner of 10th Street and Center Avenue in Oostburg, Wis. with total capital of $25,000. The bank has since constructed a new building on the corner of 9th Street and Center Avenue in 1964 and completed building additions in 1989 and 2003. In 2010, it opened a second branch office in Cedar Grove, Wis.

“Our success and longevity can be directly attributed to our customers and their preference to do business with people they know and trust” said Eric Glewen, president and CEO. “For 115 years, Oostburg State Bank has been right here, committed to serving the people, the small businesses and the communities of Sheboygan County. In that time, many other banks have come and gone and so much has changed in our industry and our world, but our commitment to serve our customers and the community hasn’t. We will never lose sight of that commitment; it has lead us to where we are today and will continue to propel us forward for the next 115 years.”

In an effort to support small businesses during the recent pandemic, Oostburg State Bank processed over 330 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loans in 2020–2021, totaling just under $25 million. Additionally, in 2023 Oostburg State Bank has been awarded a Wisconsin Small Business Administration (SBA) Volume Lender Award for the third year in a row.

Since 2021, Oostburg State Bank has invested over $207,000 back into the Sheboygan County community. In celebration of the anniversary and to further express their commitment to community, the bank will be making a donation in the amount of $115 on behalf of each employee to the local nonprofit organization that each employee selects.

Customers are invited to stop in either Oostburg or Cedar Grove office from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on Friday, March 17 to enjoy refreshments and visit with other guests and employees.
