Unity Bank: Unity Bank Helps Secure $15,000 Grant for AKF Martial Arts Academy through FHLBank Chicago
As an active member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBank Chicago), Unity Bank is thrilled to announce that AKF Martial Arts Academy in Neillsville, WI, has been awarded a $15,000 Community First® Accelerate Grants for Small Business through FHLBank Chicago. Unity Bank was honored to nominate Linda Imler, owner of AKF Martial Arts, for this grant to further support her business and its positive impact on the community.
Linda Imler embodies the drive and commitment of a successful small business owner. Since beginning her martial arts journey in 1993, Linda’s passion for helping others discover their strengths through martial arts has only grown. She took ownership of AKF Martial Arts Academy in 2003 and achieved the rank of Master-level black belt in 2014. For Linda, the mission is clear: “To give participants the opportunity to be the best of themselves—learning to be confident in their abilities, acknowledging their weaknesses, and knowing how to manage both.” This inspiring mission and dedication to personal growth are at the heart of AKF Martial Arts.
The FHLBank Chicago grant will enable AKF Martial Arts Academy to provide even more valuable learning experiences. The funds will go toward updating training equipment and enhancing the workout space, improving technology to give students better access to resources, and stocking essential office and training supplies. These updates will help AKF Martial Arts Academy keep classes accessible and affordable, allowing more people in the Neillsville community to benefit from the discipline and empowerment that martial arts offer.
Unity Bank extends its sincere thanks to FHLBank Chicago for their commitment to supporting local businesses. This grant will bring meaningful change to AKF Martial Arts Academy, benefiting Linda’s mission and strengthening the Neillsville community.
