Valerie Renk Becomes an Alumnus of One Community Bank’s Advisory Board
One Community Bank is proud to recognize Valerie Renk as she concludes her term on the OCB Advisory Board. Her insight, leadership, and active engagement have been instrumental in shaping the board’s direction and strengthening its connection to the communities OCB serves.
“Valerie has brought exceptional energy, thoughtfulness, and perspective to our advisory board,” said Steve Peotter, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Her commitment to sharing ideas, challenging the status quo, and supporting our mission has made a lasting difference. Valerie’s voice has helped shape who we are today, and we’re incredibly grateful for the time and insight she’s given to OCB.”
Jim Walker, Advisory Board Independent Chair, added, “Valerie’s thoughtful approach and strong community values brought meaningful perspective to every conversation. Her presence will truly be missed.”
Valerie’s relationship with OCB began as a business client and partner. Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “I first worked with OCB as a business client and partner, and I still feel important as an individual consumer client.”
During her time on the advisory board, Valerie found value in the diversity of perspectives shared. “Sharing experiences and insights with others was incredibly meaningful,” she said. “We all experience services and transactions in different ways, and we learn so much when we share those insights. I’ve always told my kids, ‘All growth occurs outside the comfort zone’–and these conversations were part of that process for me.”
In recognition of Valerie’s contributions, One Community Bank has made a $1,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin in her name. OCB is proud to celebrate her service on the advisory board by supporting an organization of her choice, furthering our shared commitment to creating lasting, positive change in the communities we serve.
Being part of the advisory board also deepened her appreciation for the value of community banking. “As I launched a new business last year, I carefully evaluated the competitive banking environment,” Valerie shared. “I came away with a strong appreciation for the service, software, and staff at OCB.”
Looking ahead, Valerie is embracing her semi-retirement. She is managing her former family farm, traveling with her husband, and continuing her nonprofit work–now as a dedicated volunteer.
