Waumandee State Bank: Waumandee State Bank Announces President/CEO Retirement; Subsequent Promotions
Herb Lallemont, President/CEO of Waumandee State Bank, recently announced his forthcoming retirement effective February 25, 2025.
Lallemont began his banking career in 1987. Prior to his time in Waumandee, he held a variety of management and leadership positions at banks in both Phillips and Baraboo, Wisconsin. Lallemont joined Waumandee State Bank on February 25, 2002 when he was hired by the board of directors to serve as President/CEO. Including his last 23 years at Waumandee, Lallemont’s banking career spans nearly 38 years.
Throughout his time with Waumandee State Bank, Lallemont’s friendly disposition and forward thinking have been his greatest assets. His uncompromising vision has helped Waumandee State Bank expand and thrive. As the landscape of modern banking has changed, Lallemont always ensured Waumandee State Bank could meet customer needs. During his time as president, he oversaw four large acquisitions as the bank expanded with seven additional locations. As of 2024, Waumandee State Bank has eight different offices in Western Wisconsin including Waumandee, Arcadia, Blair, Black River Falls, Durand, Fountain City, Mondovi, and Whitehall.
In addition to his job duties, Lallemont has been an active volunteer in the bank’s surrounding communities. Past volunteer roles included cub scout den leader, Arcadia Wrestling Club treasurer, and finance committee member for Arcadia’s Holy Family Parish and Catholic School. He’s also been an active member of the Waumandee Lions Club.
Lallemont is looking forward to retirement as it will mean more opportunities to travel the country and spend time with his family. Though he will be stepping down from his current role, Lallemont will continue to serve on Waumandee State Bank’s board of directors.

With Lallemont’s forthcoming retirement, Waumandee State Bank also recently announced the promotion of two veteran employees: Todd Pronschinske and Katy Michaels.
Todd Pronschinske has been promoted to the role of President. Pronschinske is a 20 year employee of Waumandee State Bank who most recently held the title of SVP/Chief Credit Officer. Prior to his most recent promotions, he has held a variety of different positions within the bank, including those in frontline service, lending, and management. Following Lallemont’s retirement, Pronschinske will assume the duties of CEO as well. Pronschinske is a graduate of Arcadia High School and UW La Crosse. He currently serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Waumandee-Montana-Lincoln area and has done so for 19 years. He’s also a long-time member of the Waumandee Area Lions.
Katy Michaels has been promoted to SVP/Chief Operations Officer. She is a 15 year employee of Waumandee State Bank who most recently held the title of Senior Vice President/Controller. Prior to her most recent promotions, she primarily served in managing the bank’s deposit operations department. Michaels is a graduate of both Winona State University and the University of Denver.
