A donation of $2,500 was made to the Wildwood Park Zoological Society by Prevail Bank. The donation will assist Leadership Marshfield (a Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce group of volunteers, comprised of professionals representing multiple organizations and industries in the community) in upgrading the Wildwood Zoo’s interactive learning exhibits.

“We are very excited and grateful to receive Prevail Bank’s donation,” said Steve Burns, zoo manager at Wildwood Park and Zoo. “We are constantly striving to improve the visitor experience at Wildwood Zoo. The project partnership with Leadership Marshfield and the generous contribution from Prevail Bank will allow us to create a new interactive area that will offer an educational and fun play element that patrons will enjoy for years to come! We don’t charge admission at the Zoo. Donations provide us with the means to keep our animals, their habitats, and public learning environments healthy, safe, and thought-provoking.”

Established in 1937, Wildwood Park & Zoo has grown to become one of the state’s premier parks and leading municipal zoos. It is a spacious 340 acres. It has miles of trails, is a favorite spot for hikers, runners, and bikers, and there’s an option to tour the large animals via your car. Groups are welcome; parking is free.

“Early on, our group decided we wanted to do a project with Wildwood Zoo,” said Ben Hertel, Leadership Marshfield professional and Prevail Bank commercial/agricultural lending officer (NMLS# 1406219). “It is a primary attraction and destination of the Marshfield community and tourists. With the pandemic ongoing during our time in the Leadership Marshfield Program, the zoo was a target that our group had identified to benefit the community in a time where group gatherings were a challenge.”

“Prevail Bank is proud to support the Wildwood Park Zoological Society and the Leadership Marshfield group,” Denise Sonnemann, Prevail Bank branch manager – Marshfield commented. “They are both hard-working organizations that help make this community a better place to live, learn, and grow for our children.”

Prevail Bank’s goal is to pursue what’s possible within the communities it serves.
