- 9:45–10:45 a.m. Strategically Planning for Changes in Climate & Weather – Alonzo Kelly, Kelly Leadership Group, LLC
- How we pack for a vacation differs from how we pack for a relocation. The itinerary will dictate what, how, and for how long we make decisions on what to bring and how to organize. Applying this practice to the concept of Change, strategically thinking through the goal, how long the journey will take, and how long we anticipate staying in a particular place is key to not only embracing but also navigating the change. Weather differs climate in both timing and decision making. This full participatory presentation will challenge is to embrace both and make sound decisions accordingly.

- This session focuses on how Human Resource leaders can help their organization be strategic with its compensation dollars. Topics will include salary structures and decisions in the current market environment. We’ll talk about current salary trends, increases in minimum wages and the impacts on your organization. We’ll also focus on incentive plan design (both cash and equity) best practices and talk about strategies to attract and retain top talent. A general overview of employee/executive benefits and programs will also be discussed.

- Welcome to your HR Speed Networking Session! This is a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and talk about key issues regarding Human Resources. Topics will be decided prior to the conference by our WBA HR Committee.

- 2:45–3:45 p.m. The Top Ten Culture Killers… And What To Do About Them, Dave Schwallier, LIFT Consulting, LLC
- In this session, participants will learn the top ten pervasive culture killers, which can decimate a team’s and organization’s stability and effectiveness. Each destructive issue will be explained and then supported through storytelling and attendee group dialogue with real-world examples. The focus will then turn to stopping these common missteps that threaten organizational health. We will discuss both the prevention and the mitigation of culture killers. Attendees will walk away with skills to recognize culture killers when they appear and practical tools to overcome and eliminate them once they’ve been identified.
1) To understand the top ten things that negatively impact organizational culture
2) To learn how to quickly recognize culture killers and assess what damage they may have already done
3) To learn practical strategies and leverage simple tools to limit the impact of culture killers and take swift corrective action.
