WBA Introduction to Commercial Lending Boot Camp
The WBA Introduction to Commercial Lending Boot Camp will start at 9 am on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 and conclude at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Program Description
Entering a commercial banking career—whether in underwriting, a support role, or as a relationship manager—can feel overwhelming. While on-the-job training helps you understand your role, experience must be reinforced with targeted education to truly prepare you to serve clients effectively and manage credit risk with confidence.
This program provides a strong foundation in commercial credit by focusing on how to identify, analyze, structure, and manage sound credit relationships. Participants will learn not just what to do, but why it matters—so they can better solve client problems and navigate the credit process successfully. The program features a balanced mix of instruction, group discussion, real-world case studies, hands-on activities, and practical application drawn directly from real banking experience.
Designed for bankers entering or early in their commercial banking careers. No prerequisites required.
Material Distribution: As part of our efforts to go green, boot camp materials will be provided electronically. Please bring a laptop or tablet to access the materials during the boot camp. If you prefer a hard copy, you’re welcome to print the materials ahead of time. Materials will be emailed to all registered attendees three business days prior to the boot camp.
About the Instructor
Brad Stevens brings more than 35 years of commercial banking experience, having served in roles across all levels of banking, including Senior Credit Officer at two banks. He is deeply committed to making bankers better and believes the most effective training comes from bankers teaching bankers—using real-world examples of both strong credits to model best practices and troubled credits to recognize and avoid.
