Designed for experienced bankers, this program dives deep into advanced credit analysis tools, real-world case studies, and strategic problem-solving techniques. You’ll work collaboratively in teams to analyze real businesses, tackle challenging loan scenarios, and sharpen your underwriting skills using Excel-based templates and hands-on exercises.
Led by a seasoned commercial lender with over 25 years of experience and extensive expertise in credit analysis, this course focuses on practical application, decision-making, and insights from real-life lending situations.

- Complex business and personal tax return analysis and how subjective elements can influence global cash flow
- Quick and effective ways to analyze cash flow statements (direct, indirect, and UCA)
- Identifying and evaluating shareholder debt transactions and their impact on debt service
- Advanced ratio interpretation techniques to uncover what’s truly driving performance metrics
- Quantifying the dollar impact of sales projections, business inefficiencies, and financing needs
- Determining the true purpose of loan requests labeled as “working capital”
- Practical case studies with Excel templates (included) for free cash flow, working investment, and DuPont analysis
- Early warning signs of potential problem loans based on borrower behavior during cash flow stress
- Strategies to improve written loan presentations for clarity and impact
- Commercial real estate (CRE) underwriting tools and ratios, including expense ratios, debt yield, and cap rate sensitivity
- Real-life CRE case studies featuring multifamily and self-storage development scenarios

Fee: $550 per person

Material Distribution: As part of our efforts to go green, school materials will be provided electronically. Please bring a laptop or tablet to access the materials during the school. Materials will be emailed to all registered attendees three business days prior to the school.
