Executive Letter: Lead the Way — Join a WBA Committee and Make a Difference

From the Desk of Rose Oswald PoelsBy Rose Oswald Poels

The Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) thrives because of the passion, expertise, and involvement of our members. Every year, I’m proud that thousands of bankers take advantage of WBA’s resources, education, and networking opportunities — but great things really start to happen when members actively engage in shaping the industry.

That’s where you and your staff come in.

By joining a WBA committee, section, or advisory group, you’re not just attending meetings — you’re gaining insider access to industry trends, leadership development, and networking with top professionals in your field. You’ll have a direct hand in shaping policies, best practices, and educational programs that impact banking across Wisconsin.

Why Get Involved?
• Expand Your Influence – Be part of the conversations that steer the future of banking.
• Accelerate Your Career – Gain leadership experience, deepen your expertise, and bring new ideas back to your bank.
• Cost Savings – Members enjoy special discounts on certain WBA educational programs.
• Find Your Passion – Whether it’s mortgage lending, HR, financial crimes, or other roles, there’s a place for you among our 13 different volunteer banker groups.

Your Voice Matters
WBA committees and sections don’t just meet — they take action. Volunteers help craft WBA’s Best Practices Library, influence legislative efforts, plan education programs, and ensure WBA provides the most relevant, high-value resources to our members.

Now’s the Time to Get Involved
Applications for 2025–26 committees and sections are now open through Monday, March 10. Don’t miss this chance to connect, contribute, and create lasting impact.

Encourage your team to take the leap and lead. Share this opportunity widely — because when we all work together, we build a stronger, smarter, and more successful banking industry.
