Bank Five Nine Supports the Germantown Community Scholarship Fund

Bank Five Nine proudly donated $1,000 to both the Germantown Community Scholarship Fund and their Annual Dinner.

The Germantown Community Scholarship Fund (GCSF) is a community non-profit established in 1981 that has awarded over $3.59 million in scholarships to 3,123 Germantown area students pursuing higher education at colleges, universities, or vocational/technical schools. GCSF’s funds for these annual scholarships derive from three areas: their Annual Dinner & Auction in February; their Endowment Fund started in 1990 from Germantown’s Volunteer Fire Company’s donation and continued through community support; and Named Scholarships from local area organizations and businesses like Bank Five Nine.

“Bank Five Nine has made a significant impact on many students’ lives over the years with their annual Named Scholarship. Their donation helps a student, each year, to be honored by their high school accomplishments and to have financial support moving forward into higher education,“Becca Skidmore, Executive Director of the Germantown Community Scholarship Fund said.

All Germantown area graduating seniors are welcome to fill out an application in March. The scholarship selection process uses a weighted scale that considers honors/AP classes, GPA, sports, extracurricular activities, volunteering, and work experience.

GCSF’s year-long fundraising efforts culminate at Awards Night in May where the selected recipients are honored for their accomplishments throughout high school. This year GCSF awarded a total of $171,000 to 107 students.

The Bank Five Nine GCSF 2024 Scholarship was awarded to Ritika Adhikari. Ritika plans to go to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a planned major in business, finance, and marketing. Ritika participated in many activities during high school including tennis, FBLA, Key Club, NHS, Spanish Honor Society, Best Buddies, and Environment Club. Ritika also worked at Culver’s over the last three years. Congrats Ritika!
