CSB Offers Unique Scholarship Opportunity to Walworth County Fair Exhibitors

Community State Bank (CSB) is excited to present The LEAD Award for the second consecutive year, a scholarship created to honor Walworth County Fair exhibitors who demonstrate a strong commitment to service and leadership in their communities.

The scholarship is based on CSB’s LEAD principles: Leadership, Expectation, Achievement, and Dedication. Each of these values is explored through an application process that assesses the applicant’s community involvement, future aspirations, fair participation, and commitment to lifelong learning.

Community State Bank focuses our volunteer efforts clerking the Animal Meat Sale. However, the LEAD scholarship is open to all 2024 Walworth County Fair exhibitors. In addition to being a current year exhibitor, applicants must be either a graduating high school senior or post-secondary education student enrolled in a four-year or technical college program for the 2024-2025 academic year.

“We’re thrilled to once again clerk the Walworth County Animal Sale. It provides us with a wonderful platform to engage with the community and share what Community State Bank stands for,” said CSB Ag Coordinator, Brian Lois. “The LEAD Award is a significant part of that effort—it’s our way of celebrating the leadership and dedication of exhibitors at the Walworth County Fair.”

Detailed scholarship criteria and application instructions are available at CSB.bank/lead-award-2024. Interested candidates can submit their written or video applications by Monday, September 2nd, which is the final day of the Walworth County Fair.

After the fair, a committee organized by Community State Bank will review the applicants, and selected winners will be recognized at the Walworth County Fair Buyers Dinner in September.

“The LEAD Award embodies the core values of Community State Bank,” said CSB Vice President, and director of the bank’s 2024 LEAD Award efforts, Molly Krause. “With these scholarships, we aim to recognize those exhibitors who not only contribute to their communities but take on leadership roles to make them better places to live and work.”

Each year Community State Bank donates hundreds of volunteer hours preparing for and clerking local fair auctions. These auctions include: Racine County, Kenosha County, and Walworth County. Each auction requires approximately 10-15 CSB volunteers to help organize and complete the sale of hundreds of animals sold by local 4-H and FFA exhibitors.

“We’re honored to support the Walworth County community once again, and we deeply appreciate the opportunity provided by the Walworth County Fair and the Meat Animal Sale Committee,” added Lois. “We look forward to seeing everyone at the fair, so don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello to our team on Friday, August 30th.”
