Brooke Sprang

First State Bank is proud to announce the appointment of Brooke R. Sprang, SHRM-SCP, as its new Senior Vice President, Human Resources. With a distinguished career in human resources management spanning nearly fifteen years, Sprang brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the bank’s senior management team.

Sprang’s professional journey is marked by significant achievements and contributions, particularly in the areas of organizational development, performance management, and employee engagement. Her strategic vision and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in shaping the HR landscapes of her previous positions, most notably at Investors Community Bank from 2013 to 2021 where she advanced to the position of Senior Vice President – Human Resources.

Most recently Brooke has been the Director of Human Resources at Americollect, Inc. in Manitowoc.

Holding a master’s degree in management and organizational development and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management, both from Silver Lake College, Sprang has consistently demonstrated her dedication to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Her academic accolades, including graduating Summa Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude, are a testament to her passion for the field.

In her new role at First State Bank, Sprang will oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, succession planning, learning and development, and compliance. She will also play a pivotal role in driving the bank’s strategic initiatives, with a focus on employee engagement and culture.

Brooke and her husband, Joey, live in Manitowoc with their three children, Cora, Braydon, and Devon. They enjoy kayaking, spending time outdoors, participating in local youth sports activities, and trying new restaurants.

Brooke currently serves on the board of the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA and the advisory committee for the Human Resources Program at Lakeshore Technical College. She previously was a board member for the Lakeshore Area Human Resources Association for ten years and The Haven of Manitowoc County for three years.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brooke to our team,” said Matt Lemke, President and CEO of First State Bank. “Her extensive experience and innovative approach to human resources will be invaluable as we continue to grow and build a team of professionals to provide the best possible service and financial guidance to our customers and communities.”
